The Acid Room Operator is a production employee responsible for loading racks of stainless parts into acid baths, rinsing them off, and moving them to next station, per the production schedule. Due to the nature and environment of the work, this is a hazardous role which requires a diligent focus on safety. The Acid Room Operator is responsible for notifying Maintenance of any specific operational and equipment needs of the area.
Hours: Mon – Fri 1:30pm-10:00pm
What you’ll do:
1. Process parts through acid baths, rinse tanks, and clean-off welds with high-pressure sprayer, according to documented work instructions.
2. Meet defined production expectations and production schedules while following all safety and quality requirements.
3. Understand and decipher part numbers.
4. Possess up-to-date training in hazmat, scuba, air mask fitting, and overhead hoist operation and inspection.
5. Maintain the effectiveness of the acid baths through proper temperature and concentration guidelines. Assist Maintenance and Safety personnel with spiking acid baths every 2-3 months.
What you’ll bring:
1. Strong written and oral communication skills
2. Possess basic math and computer skills
3. Can properly use and read a tape measure and other measurement tools, including thermometer and hydrometer
4. Knowledge of (or ability to learn) the metals and chemicals used and how to safely handle them
5. Understanding of (or ability to learn) the effects that actions taken on the passivation functions will have on the treatment functions
Compensation: $23.25-$30.43 per hour
