Under supervision of the Director of Purchasing, the Buyer I will possess the authority to purchase raw materials, equipment, machinery, and/or supplies for the operation of the organization at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and other factors. Prepare bid specifications, receive bids, and make purchases of commodities or goods where the financial impact is moderate. May work directly in support of line operations and in collaboration with department managers, engineers, and operations staff. Participate in the selection of vendor sources and will have considerable latitude in determining acceptable price.

Responsibilities
1. Place orders and follow-up with requestors on lower risk commodities.
2. Confirm and expedite purchase orders for a limited range of spend categories, including MRO, Operational supplies, Office supplies, and some lower risk inventory items of minimal risk and complexity.
3. Use the Microsoft Suite of Applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to do analysis, prepare reports and summaries, and make recommendations to improve the acquisition of materials and services for Romac across the Materials Group.
4. Effectively use Romac’s data management and planning system to manage suppliers and supply, while minimizing total cost to the organization.
5. Generate departmental metrics and reports for use by the Purchasing and Materials Management departments.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma oran equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
2. Technically inclined, including demonstrated ability to work with enterprise resource management software, as well as proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
3. Detail-oriented and able to efficiently multi-task
4. Strong organizational and communication skills
5. Data driven and enthusiastic about analysis
Compensation: $25.25-$34.09 per hour
