QA TECH I SAND & METALS

MON–THU; 5:00 AM–3:30 PM

With readily available supervision, perform repetitive inspections following standardized methods and procedures. Visually inspect or check parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments or against fixed samples. Check dimensions and finishes against blueprint or work order specifications. At this level, may perform finishing operations to correct rejected parts or assist with other production activities. This position specializes in sand and metals lab work.


Hours: Mon-Thurs: 5:00am-3:30pm


What you’ll do:

1. Under guidance from more senior level personnel, leverage standardized Quality Assurance methods and established best practices to perform repetitive inspections and assessments.

2. Perform daily test of sand mixture and electronically log information.

3. Perform daily test of metal mixture, pour ATAS samples, and electronically log information. Prepare microstructure and test bar samples.

4. Collect samples from the Disa/Osborne mold making machine and the furnace/auto-pour.

5. Enter data into established databases.


What you’ll bring:

1. Basic QA skills, including experience with print reading, finishing, and defect recognition

2. Able to use all tools and equipment necessary for the job, including a lathe, sanders, cut-off saw, tape measure, and calipers

3. Effective reading, writing, computer, organizational, and general mathematical skills

4. Able to perform visual inspections

5. Basic mechanical aptitude

6. Strong written and oral communication skills


Compensation: $20.00-$27.16/hour
